HERA leadership
Dr. Mildred Mudany
Dr. Mildred Mudany is the Founder and Executive Director of Help REACH Africa (HERA), bringing over 25 years of experience in public health leadership, research, governance, and health systems strengthening.
She previously served as Country Director for Jhpiego Kenya and Chief of Party for a large USAID-funded HIV program valued at over USD 100 million. She also worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she supported HIV and public health programming.
Beyond program leadership, Dr. Mudany has served as Chairperson of Council and Acting Chancellor of Kisii University. She is a Medical Doctor, Consultant Paediatrician, and holds a PhD in Tropical Medicine.
At HERA, she provides strategic leadership, donor engagement, partnership development, research oversight, governance support, and overall organizational management. She guides the development and implementation of programs that advance maternal and child health, HIV prevention, health systems strengthening, research, and community empowerment.

Jane Otai
Jane Otai leads program implementation, research coordination, and field operations across HERA’s portfolio of health, research, and community development initiatives.
Over the years, she has gained extensive experience in project management, qualitative and quantitative research, development of data collection tools, training and supervision of field teams, transcription, coding, and data analysis. She previously served as an Adolescent Health Advisor at Jhpiego in Baltimore, supporting global adolescent health programming, proposal development, and program management.
Jane has supported several major studies and public health initiatives, including the Nairobi Urban Demographic Surveillance Project, Nairobi Cross-Sectional Study, NCD Study, and Jenga Beshte (CIRA) Project. She has strong expertise in qualitative data analysis and implementation research, contributing to evidence generation that informs policy and programming.

Richard Orenyo
Richard Orenyo is a seasoned operations, finance, and grants management professional with more than 19 years of experience supporting complex donor-funded programs across Kenya and the region.
He provides leadership in financial management, resource mobilization, grants administration, procurement, compliance, human resources, and organizational operations. Richard possesses extensive experience managing donor requirements and regulations from organizations including USAID, DANIDA, DFID, the European Union, United Nations agencies, the World Bank, Gates Foundation, SIDA, and CIDA.
At HERA, he oversees financial stewardship, organizational sustainability, donor compliance, and resource mobilization efforts that support the organization’s strategic growth and impact.
Richard holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Moi University and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K).

Paul Adipo
Paul Adipo leads monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning functions across HERA programs and research initiatives.
He supports the design and implementation of monitoring frameworks, performance measurement systems, data quality assurance processes, and learning agendas that strengthen program effectiveness and accountability. His work includes data analysis, reporting, outcome tracking, and knowledge management to support evidence-based decision-making.
Paul holds a Master of Public Health (Monitoring and Evaluation concentration) and a Higher National Diploma in Epidemiology and Disease Control.
